En 1968, Storm Thorgerson et Aubrey "Po" Powell, étudiants en art, réalisent un collage de photos pour leurs amis musiciens Syd, David et Roger. L'album et la pochette qui en résultent, A Saucerful of Secrets, ont contribué à lancer deux carrières : celle de Pink Floyd, l'un des groupes phares des années 70, et celle d'Hipgnosis, qui, au cours des 25 années suivantes, a conçu une série de pochettes d'albums emblématiques.
