Un cinéaste désabusé par les évènements de Mai 1968 introduit sa compagne, Suzanne, une journaliste américaine, dans une usine de charcuterie. Suzanne vient interviewer le directeur de la firme et faire un reportage sur la «France en crise». Mais à leur arrivée, le couple se retrouve séquestré avec le patron par des ouvriers.
